Master Plan Steering
Committee
The Master Plan Steering Committee was created
by a vote of Town Meeting in June 2006, and was charged with the
task of defining a scope of work for our town's Master Plan, and
with making recommendations to the Planning Board. Over the course
of 10 months, this committee reviewed Master Plans recently promulgated
by other communities, interviewed individuals within the planning
profession and officials from nearby towns, drafted an RFP(Request
for Proposals), and vetted the responses submitted to our RFP.
In addition, in an attempt to familiarize the community at-large
with the issues addressed in a Master Plan and the urgent need
to address these issues here in Clinton, individual members of
the committee wrote Op-Ed pieces for the local papers.
As a result of this committee's efforts and the
support of Town Meeting in June 2006, the Town of Clinton has
retained the services of Community Opportunities Group, inc. of
Boston to assist the community in the drafting of our Master Plan.
The members of the Planning Board and the Master Plan Committee
wish to thank the members of the Master Plan Steering Committee
for their exemplary effort.
